Our journey to locksmithing
Both my partner David and I were born and raised in Taranaki, not too long ago. I began my career in a dairy industry laboratory in Inglewood, eventually becoming a supervisor before moving to Marlborough. There, I managed a laboratory at another dairy factory. I then ended up working at a contract winery managing the laboratory through many vintages.
After more than 30 years of troubleshooting and problem-solving (essential skills for locksmithing) in a lab environment, I moved back to New Plymouth in 2013. That's when I started working at Moturoa Locks, which was owned by different folks back then. I’ve since been a locksmith for a little over 10 years now, and still learn something new every day.
In 2020, David and I bought the business, and it has continued to grow. David has lived in Taranaki his whole life and knows the province inside and out. He is a man of many talents which perfectly complements the locksmithing business. As a qualified engineer and a maintenance man extraordinaire, he’s an expert in managing, planning, and doing. Check out the Focus Maintenance page to learn more about his skills and expertise. David is also a problem solver and always prides himself on doing a quality job.
Together, David and I can tackle a wide range of challenges and provide solutions for many different scenarios. Proud of our Taranaki roots, we always look forward to connecting with our community. So whether you're locked out of your car, need new locks installed on your home, or have a unique security challenge that needs a creative solution, we're always here to help!
